Finally summer's here, good to be chillin' out...

"I want to live a life of infinite summers"

I said that quote to myself while writing in my journal the other day. Summer is so lovely. Even lazy days that have almost no agenda, such as this one, are enjoyable because the sun is shining, the skin is a little more brown, and there's a quiet hum from the air conditioning. It's soothing.

I'm having serious blockage lately. I always have doubts that anyone even reads this ole thing anymore, so I could probably write about any topic and no one would even care.

Let's talk about growth for a second. I started this blog when I was in high school, and I will admit that I was a lot back then. I probably still am now. I've just learned how to "be cool" about it. Maybe. Maybe I actually haven't. Needless to say, there are a lot of embarrassing posts on here. I've editted some, I've deleted some at the request of others, but all in all, I think this blog is a decent indication of how far I've come in my life. I'm still not comletely put together and I'm still weird and goofy and giddy as a schoolgirl sometimes, but I like to think my life has become more refined. I have a better idea of who I am today than I did yesterday. So that's a start, right?

I leave for Europe in two weeks. Ideally, I will find an attractive, LDS European who I will fall instantly in love with. We will be pen pals and then he will somehow travel to Utah or I will run into him in New York and we'll grab brunch, and the rest will be history. (ok maybe I have watched a little too much tv from the upper east side). Realistically, I will not flirt with a single European because my co-tourers of the female sort will be wearing the exact same outfits as me... and the males tourers will not be far behind. We'll just leave it at "nervous, but excited"

One of the loveliest ladies I've ever met (commonly mistaken for my twin) got married a week ago, and I was one of her bridesmaids! You should definitely go to this link and look at the photos. The photographs (as well as the happy couple) are STUNNING. It was a dream to be in attendance that day. The word "magical" does not even begin to describe.

Catching up with old friends is hard sometimes. And then sometimes, it's not.

Subtle shoutout to best friends with no "TMI," only "MI" (much information). You's the real MVP. Also, constantly killing the snapchat streak and never going more than a few hours without communicating in some form. We rock.

Here's to my new driver's license arriving in the mail and the picture looking more like a mug shot than that of the glamour sort. #adultlife

Myles and I have embarked on quite a few adventures as of late. Seven peaks, s'mores dip, snowcones, and How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. We bought matching sweatshirts yesterday, and he told me that if I ever got put in a situation where I felt necessary, I could tell person(s) causing the uncomfort that I am dating Myles, and he would even play it up for me. #truefriendship

If this isn't summer, I don't wanna know what is.

a premature mid-life crisis

I turned twenty-one this week. It was a monumental day in my life history, and I felt so loved. The next day I had a meltdown. Full blown tears.

This is the year.

I'm officially an adult preparing to face my future (so far... alone), and it is scary as heck. Thinking of moving to a big city across the country from my family all by myself is simply terrifying. But that's where my future goal is, and I can't just sit around and wait for my life to begin. No offense, Utah, but I think some of my dreams include being elsewhere in the world.
More on the meltdown: Not only the worries of my future, but also within the next year A LOT is going to happen to me, and the stress of everything just kind of side swiped me all at once.

This is the age of the biggest changes. People I roamed the halls of high school with just three years ago are returning from missions or having their second children or winning mirror ball trophies or professionally modeling or getting married. And I'm... what am I doing? Nothing has changed in my life, and yet I'm a different person than I was when we left that ghettooooo place that is AF High. I'm going to be a senior in college. I only have three (or four) semesters left. How in the blazes did time fly so quickly?

Am I spending my time correctly? Am I making the most of my life right now? Am I living in the present?

Someone once told me that de javu was the person being in the right place and doing the right thing at the right time. Tell me what you think about that.

I've wasted a lot of time watching Gossip Girl on Netflix, and the only thing it has taught me so far is the importance of communication (which is not such a bad thing to learn, per se...)

Good news: I started getting tan this week. All it takes is getting fried one time, I'm telling ya.
Another piece of good news is one week until I get to be a part of the most posh wedding I think I will ever attend in my existence. I will definitely be snapchatting and taking pictures of the whole evening. I'm stoked.

Good night upper east side and good night friends of Provo and AF, Utah.
xoxo,
Lize.
